Mourning for Manfred Pretting, IMA Award winner of 2001

Manfred Pretting, first winner of the IMAustria Award, died suddenly on April 16, 2010.
The advertising expert and Industrial Designer Mandfred Pretting introdced the Advertising Academy as a new school type in 1993. In the following years, as director of the Advertising Academy, he continuously expanded the range of classes. "Exhibition design" was installed as a fix element in the class program of advertising management and graphic design. Since 1994, the Advertising Academy offers a extra-occupational college for professional communication. "Fair construction" was included in the educational program of "Advertising" and also in the special module "Exhibition planning".
In 1995 Manfred Pretting introduced a 4-semester training for advertising designers as part of the evening classes of the Advertising Academy, which was transformed in 2002 into the Colleg of Event and Exhibition Management. Each year, approximately 20 professionally trained graduates of the Advertising Academy for exhibition and live marketing start a new carreer.

For this extraordinary commitment to education and training Manfred Pretting was honoured with the IMA-Award - the highest award of the I.M. Austria – in 2001. After retirement, Pretting pursued the developments in the industry with great interest and was guest of honour at almost all following IMA Award ceremonies.
The I.M. Austria lost with him a highly valued partner.
